Founded November 1975
In 1975, members of staff at Salendine Nook High School having played a few friendly cricket games decided to form themselves into a league team. John Harris was Treasurer, and collected 10p per week from all players to ensure the club had the necessary funds. Tom Walton ordered extra cricket equipment from his P.E. capitation so that players could use school gear!! At the February A.G.M. of the Huddersfield Association League, the team was formally accepted into the league for season 1976. Winter raffles were held at the Highgate Oakes every Wednesday.

First Season 1976
In our first game we played Birkby F.M.A. at Fartown H.S. and were bowled out for 32! Teams were at first picked on a rotational basis to keep everyone happy. It quickly became clear that some players were not up to League standard, and so the captain Ian McMillan selected players on merit, much to the annoyance of a certain Scotsman!! Matches were played on the school square, with after match refreshments taken at the Highgate Oakes until closing time!

Seasons 1978 – 1980
SNOB's - the early years
Up and down seasons as players began to find their feet playing League cricket. In 1977 we started playing on the New College square and to use their pavilion. We now had two teams, with the second team called "The Oates XI ". Alan Oates used to captain, open bat, open bowl, stump, collect subs, and still bring his own tea. 1979 saw our first League representative player in Jeremy Walker – an exceptional all-rounder. We now had a good reputation within the area, and began attracting players from school and sixth form.

The Early Eighties
SNOB's 1983
Mick Walker and Graham Herbert were captains and began putting together strong teams. The club began to string together results and in 1983 we won our first trophies with the indoor and outdoor 6-aside championships and Section B Champions. The club also moved grounds to our present position. In season ’84 we opened our bar which was bought at ‘reasonable’ cost from Talk of the Town (now Lincolns). Following his car crash, Chris Walker became heavily involved in running social events and the club was having one of its most successful spells. Badminton, Hockey and Soccer Sections were added to the Former Pupils Association as we were now known. The clubhouse developed with the addition of a new toilet / kitchen block, more trophies came our way in Cricket, and the Soccer club was also thriving.

The Late Eighties
In 1987 the cricket section decided to move leagues into the Huddersfield Central League, as we were continually improving our facilities, but other clubs in the Association League were just standing still. We quickly found our feet in the Central League and began moving up the divisions. In 1987 the Soccer section organised the infamous Estartit coach trip, with unforgettable moments including those beds on the coach. Towards the end of the eighties we started to lose some of the sections with badminton and Hockey leaving and soccer on its last legs.

The Nineties
The Evening League Team
The club had established itself in the Central League, and membership continued to grow. We had an abundance of players, some of whom did not want to play Saturdays. Consequently in 1991 a team was entered into the Evening League. Under the guidance of Tom Walton and John Binns the team had some excellent times and made progress to the first section by 1995. Martin Travis led the First team to Section C and Section A titles, and in 1995 we were playing Premiership cricket. Season 1997 saw us lose the Evening League team, and we also played our last games in the Central League. The club was now left with two Saturday teams and two junior teams, and it was decided to concentrate on this development. In the Autumn of 1997 we were accepted into the Halifax League. The club received Lottery funding for an artificial wicket and further extension with a scorebox. In 1998 we played our first season in the Halifax League.
